Inspiration teacher training 15

Selection Day

You will find out if you have been successful within 3 days of attending your interview.

If your application is shortlisted you will be invited to a selection day. The selection day is a half-day and will be based at the Inspiration Teaching School Hub, Norwich. You will complete a number of tasks during the day which will include:

  • A formal interview
  • A presentation task
  • A reading aloud task
  • A written task
  • A numeracy task

The interview panel will usually consist of the Director/ Phase Lead, the Course Lead and the Course Manager. We will provide you with guidance on what we are looking for in each task prior to your selection day.

The day will give you an insight into what it will be like to work in one of our schools, along with the opportunity to ask questions and meet members of our teaching team. We aim to provide you with a decision within 3 working days of your selection day and offer feedback on your performance. You will be notified initially through Apply and if you are successful with a follow-up email outlining any conditions that we have set and the next steps.

Subject knowledge enhancement

Occasionally, it may be set as a condition of your offer that you will need to complete a subject knowledge enhancement course (SKE) prior to starting your training with us. This is quite common if your degree is not in the subject you would like to teach and we feel you need to increase your subject knowledge. This could be a specific course or module that you are asked to complete, or a series of tasks and activities put together by our expert course leads.

Safeguarding

Any offer made is conditional upon all safeguarding checks being completed. This includes suitability for working with children, and all other DBS checks being carried out. In addition to all safeguarding checks applicants will be required to undertake a health and capacity to teach check.
